The tailors' tailor.
Mimmo Siviglia established his atelier in 1959, at a time when his reputation as one of Rome’s most talented tailors began to flourish.
Yearly, during the decade 1967-1977, he presented his haute couture collections at the National Chamber for Italian Fashion in Rome and the Pitti Palace in Florence. With every collection he brought stylstic and technical innovations that anticipated trends in men's fashion while adhering to the finest Italian sartorial traditions. His timeless collections received accolades from the press and the trade alike and are still revered today, more than 40 years later.
He received prizes and awards in Italy and overseas where he worked as technical and stylistic consultant to the apparel industry from the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and the United States.
He played a key role in the International Wool Secretariat (IWS) campaigns promoting the use of pure virgin wool in the apparel industry. This is a topic Mimmo Siviglia has contributed to with his research on processing of natural fibers using the most advanced technology, yet one that "respects" the natural character of the fibers.
His collections and custom creations have been featured in International apparel magazines such as Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, Herren Journal, Brutus, and Men's Wear, as well as trade publications and film.
